About 36 hours more of widespread heavy rain, then rain chances taper off to more scattered in nature as we head into the weekend.

Good morning everyone! I went on the air at 11:00 p.m. last night on KRLD and talked about how the line of storms was weakening as it approached Dallas and Fort Worth. Well that's what happened. Barely a drop of rain from McKinney to Dallas to Waxahachie and points east. That's good news! However, here's the bad news...there's a lot more rain lurking to the west and southwest of the DFW area and all heading our direction... through the morning and  the day today.

Severe threat: A level 2 out of 5 for severe weather is possible across the majority of north Texas. All facets of severe weather are possible.... however, the tornado threat looks low, but not out of the question. General rainfall totals will range between 2" and 4" before the end of the day.

Another area storms will develop right over us after midnight tonight and slowly move east through the 1st half of Wednesday. Speaking of Wednesday, a Flash Flood Watch continues through at least 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. This may be extended into Thursday...Turn around don't drown!

We dry out a little bit late tomorrow through Thursday before more scattered showers and storms return Friday into Saturday, but less numerous!

Storm chances really ramp DOWN Sunday into early next week.

Temperatures over the next 7 days will stay in the upper sixties in the rain, but jump up to near or slightly above 80 out of the rain towards the weekend.

Please stay weather aware at least over the next 24-36 hours across all of North Texas. Flooding is still a HUGE concern.

This is the 1st time in a long time that were actually above average, (+0.06") on our annual rainfall! About time!
