Why do kids have to learn personal finance in school now?

Schools are opening back up next week for most of the state. When students get back to class, they're going to see a few changes. There's also something new, that starts with freshmen this year. They have to learn a little bit of adulting. At some point, Texas students have to pass a personal finance class before they can get their diplomas. That class will teach them about everything from saving money, investing, budgeting, credit, and financial planning.
