Anaheim officials are considering a gondola to transport passengers between the transit hub, which is between Angel Stadium and the Honda Center, and Disneyland.

Some people in the Anaheim area are unsure if it’s necessary, but others support the idea.

“I think if it's for the Olympics, we probably might need a way to improve the current public transportation. It might be a good idea,” one person told KNX News’ Jon Baird.

Mike Lyster, a spokesman for the city of Anaheim, said a gondola is just one option out of several to improve transportation across the city.

“Over the past decade we've taken very preliminary looks at streetcars. We currently have a bus and shuttle system that does serve the two areas. So this has been an ongoing area of exploration and discussion,” he explained.

Lyster said the city is not close to making a decision on what to build yet. Also, it would be impossible to get something built before the 2028 Olympics.

“That is an unrealistic timetable for any advanced infrastructure project to be in place by then,” Lyster said.

Olympic Volleyball is scheduled to be hosted at the Honda Center.
