A 23-year-old man suspected in a hit-and-run in Burbank that left a bicyclist hospitalized in critical condition was taken into custody Thursday.
Detectives located Sherman Oaks resident Alexander Saenz Thursday around 10:15 a.m. in the 100 block of South First Street, where he was interviewed and admitted to being the driver of the hit-and-run collision, Burbank Police Department Sgt. Stephen Turner said.
Saenz was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run resulting in serious injury, Turner said. He was being held without bail and is due to appear in court Monday morning.

Police received several calls on Jan. 16 around 7:20 a.m. regarding a collision involving a bicyclist on Clybourn Avenue near Oxnard Street, Turner said.
Burbank Police Department traffic investigators and detectives responded to the scene and continued with an extensive investigation. Investigators reviewed hours of surveillance video and identified the vehicle involved in the collision, Turner said.
Formal charges are pending review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Turner said.
The victim, whose name was not released, remains hospitalized in critical condition, Turner said.
