Coachella and Stagecoach Country Music festivals canceled due to COVID-19

Coachella and Stagecoach Country Music festivals are canceled.

Organizers had postponed Coachella twice and most recently they were planning to host the event this coming April.

Announced today, Riverside County's public health officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser says because of the ongoing pandemic he signed a public health order canceling the festivals.

"Due to the pandemic, Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser today (Jan. 29) signed a public health order canceling Coachella Valley Music and Arts, Stagecoach Country Music festivals planned for April 2021. We look forward to when the events may return," Dr. Cameron Kaiser's Twitter stated on Friday afternoon.

Riverside County officials are currently in talks with festival organizers about possibly turning the venues into mass coronavirus vaccination sites.​

What about current pass holders? They will be receiving an email on how to request a refund or roll-over to next year, according to USA Today.
