Team Manager Danny Boehle told KNX News’ Jon Baird that being honored by the Dodgers is a dream.
“When you do something like this in this city, and all the sports teams that we have and all the legendary winning sports teams through the Dodgers, the Lakers, the Kings, Rams, Chargers – it just makes sense to honor teams that win,” he said. “Winners win. So that’s what we do.”
The kids are also looking forward to meeting some of the Dodger players themselves.
“It’s gonna be pretty cool,” Lucas Keldorf, the team’s catcher, told KNX News’ Jon Baird. “I wanna meet all the players.”
“I wanna meet Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and [Jason] Outman,” Quinn Boehle, outfield player and Boehle’s son, said.
When it comes to handling all the attention, Quinn said it’s pretty crazy.
“Could be stressful sometimes but El Segundo is like a giant family and we’re all together and we’re all rooting for each other,” he said.
“It’s gonna be a lot, but it’s gonna be very fun,” Lucas said.
A parade honoring the team is set for Sunday, Sept. 10.
