The gunman in the Agua Dulce fire station shooting Tuesday has been identified.

He is Jonathan Tatone, a 45-year-old fire specialist, according to the coroner's office. Records show Tatone had bought the home in Acton less than a year ago. He allegedly set that house on fire before taking his own life.

The victim who died is Tory Carlon, 44, and he was from Santa Clarita, according to the LA County Medical Examiner-Coroner.

It appears that a longstanding, workplace dispute was behind the shootings at the Agua Dulce fire station. He was later found dead on the scene of the Acton home with a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head.

One firefighter is dead and another was injured after an off-duty firefighter allegedly opened fire at Fire Station 81 in Agua Dulce Tuesday morning.

LA County Fire Chief Daryl Osby said Tuesday “I never thought it would be me or our fire department family. I never thought when our firefighters face danger that they would face danger at one of our fire stations.”

Osby went on to confirm the death of a firefighter engineer, 44, who succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was shot multiple times to the abdomen. Osby has spoken with the family of the fallen firefighter.
