An alleged hit-and-run suspect led authorities on a chase Friday from Victorville to East Los Angeles, where she bailed out of the SUV and was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.

The chase began shortly before 2 p.m. in San Bernardino County, and the suspect eventually made her way into Los Angeles County, heading north on the Golden State (5) Freeway.

The suspect exited the freeway near Commerce and began driving recklessly on local streets, occasionally driving over medians and on the wrong side of roads, with CHP officers in close pursuit.
