How will Harris' possible nomination impact her neighbors in Brentwood?

On Sunday, President Joe Biden announced he was stepping out of the 2024 presidential election and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.

Harris received endorsements from several Southern California leaders, including Mayor Karen Bass, Congressman Adam Schiff, and Congress Robert Garcia among others. But what do her neighbors in Brentwood think and how could it impact the area?

One man walking his dog on Monday morning told KNX News’ Jon Baird he thinks things will be easier in the neighborhood if she becomes the nominee, and possibly the president, because she won’t be in the area as much.

I think it's actually gonna be less disruptive,” he said. “We hope and we just wish her nothing but the best.”

Another neighbor agreed, adding that there will still be some challenges when she and her family do come into town.

“Once she’s here it’s gonna be a lot more challenging, but I think she’s gonna come a lot less often than she used to before,” he said.

A limo driver who picks up a client in the neighborhood every day thinks otherwise.

“It'll be crazier. I mean, it'll be harder to get up there,” he said.

He added that when Harris is in town, there’s a checkpoint that’s established in the area and the thorough inspections that are conducted delay everything.
