In the new Netflix series The Four Seasons, six old friends head for a relaxing weekend away only to learn that one couple in the group is about to split up. Following the friends across four vacations, we watch how changes to the group bubble up old issues, create new stress, and change the dynamic for everyone.

Co-created by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield, the eight episode series is now available on Netflix, and we had a chance to talk to the stars of the show about the making of the show, if they would ever venture on such a vacation with a group of friends, and more during a conversation in Audacy's Kevin Klein and Lisa Stanley in Los Angeles.
Before you dive into the show with your significant other, Tina Fey has a few words of advice. "I think a couple should get two separate Netflix accounts and watch it separately," she laughs.
"It probably is that kind of thing where you will see in it what you're experiencing, whether it's good or bad," adds Will Forte about the series. "What you take from it is what is currently being reflected."
Not only does the series examine different relationship dynamics between couples, but also how the status of those couples can impact the friends around them. "If it's a friend group worth having, it'll survive something like that," says Forte.
But ultimately is it a good idea or a bad idea to go on a vacation with friends? "Honestly, I would go on holiday with friends, but not as many," shares Marco Calvani. "Like these are a big group. I don't know. I can't do it. Maybe I can go with another couple. Just two more."
"I did it once with a big group of like 8 people," admits Colman Domingo. "We went to Vegas and it's like, we did have some rules. Like, we all had to dress like pimps and hookers, so we all did that. You have to make some agreements"
"Like my 5th grade birthday party," adds Kerri Kenney-Silver as the cast erupts with laughter.
Ultimately in a show about long-term relationships and friendships, for Forte and Fey, there's a lot of mutual appreciation, with Will calling it a "real honor" to play the on-screen partner of his longtime friend. "I think I'm very lucky. I'm blessed to have a lovely real husband in real life and to have such a kind and smart and funny fake husband," echoes Fey. "What a blessing for me."
