Some changes could be coming to L.A. Metro’s on-demand rideshare service, and the public is being called to weigh in on them.
The Metro MicroTransit currently charges $1 for fares. Joe Linton, the editor for Streets Blog L.A., told KNX News’ Margaret Carrero that the price may just see a bump. “They are looking to up that $1 fare to $2.50,” he said.
That’s not the only change. Metro Micro currently serves eight zones, including North San Fernando Valley, North Hollywood/Burbank, and LAX/Inglewood. But Linton said Metro is looking to cut some service areas.
“They're looking at potentially what service areas are performing poorly and what ones are performing well and what ones are good for what metro calls, equity-focused communities for low-income communities of color versus richer areas,” he said.
Metro will be holding public input meetings. The first meeting will be held Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Marvin Braude San Fernando Valley Constituent Center.
