On Tuesday morning, protestors picketed outside Los Angeles City Hall, claiming that LADWP is dragging its feet and preventing the opening of a Skid Row housing project.
Members of Housing Is A Human Right gathered outside the entrance used by city councilmembers and Mayor Karen Bass. Susie Shannon, who serves as policy director for the group, told KNX News’ Craig Fiegener that there are more than 90 units of housing that have been stalled for years because LADPW has delayed connecting the housing to the city's power lines
“It's been almost four years, and we're just kind of saying enough is enough,” she said. “We need that housing, and we need them to bring that online.”
