The man accused of killing a 9-year-old boy and 3 adults at an office complex in the city of Orange is scheduled to be arraigned on murder charges today.

He'll do so from a hospital bed, where he remains in critical condition after being shot by police.

The exact motive for last week's shooting rampage is still unclear, but police say the alleged gunman knew all of the victims.

Those who died included the father, sister and younger brother of Luis Tovar Junior who says it was a very tight-knit family.

The family of those killed have been identified as Luis Tovar, his daughter Genevieve Raygoza, Leticia Solis and 9-year-old Matthew Farias, who was found cradled in the arms of a woman believed to be his mother, according to reporting by ABC-7.

Farias' mother, Ismeralda Tamayo, is believed to be the lone survivor of the shooting. She remains in the hospital in critical condition.

Family and friends of Tovar, the owner of Unified Homes, believe he was killed. Family members of Leticia Solis told ABC-7 they are devastated by her murder and request privacy.

Orange Police identified the suspect as Aminadab Gaxiola Gonzalez, 44, whose last known address is in Fullerton. He was taken into custody Wednesday night.

The suspect was living out of a motel in Anaheim at the time, the police announced later on Thursday afternoon. He allegedly used a rental car to get to the scene.

Police, again, said that there was a business and personal relationship between the suspect and the victims.

Police say they found a semi-automatic handgun, pepper spray, handcuffs and ammo apparently belonging to the shooter.

Four victims were killed in a shooting Wednesday night in a business complex, including one child. A fifth person was wounded. Police say the alleged shooter killed a man, two women and a 9-year-old boy.

Court records show the suspect, who is hospitalized in critical condition, was charged with child abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, and dissuading a witness back in 2015. Those charges were later dropped.

The Orange County DA said the man, who allegedly killed four people, could possibly face the death penalty. OC DA Todd Spitzer also said it appears a 9-year-old boy died in his mother’s arms. A woman, who was with the boy, survived and is in critical condition at the hospital.

Police said in a news conference Thursday morning that all those involved had a business and personal relationship that existed between the suspect and all of the victims.

Police said all of the victims were connected.

One man and one woman who were killed were found in the Unified Homes business.

Police say the alleged shooter locked the front and back gates at the complex on west Lincoln Avenue before shooting the five people late yesterday afternoon.
