Rancho Palos Verdes can get started on two projects focused on shoring up hillsides and mitigating the risk of landslides.
The city can start on these projects without an emergency declaration. The state clarified that Gov. Gavin Newsom’s state of emergency declaration that was issued in early February covers any fixes that are needed to stabilize the hillsides in Rancho Palos Verdes.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the city’s existing $33 million landslide remediation project can also be fast-tracked to start within a few weeks and finish in a few months.
