LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Red Cross L.A. tweeted Thursday that it opened an evacuation shelter at Malibu High School for the campers and dogs left stranded at Leo Carrillo Campground due to flooding.
Los Angeles and Ventura County firefighters rescued 27 people stranded at the campgrounds on Thursday as overflow from the creek prevented campers from getting to higher ground.
The Red Cross said those who are sheltered were given food and water.
