A candlelight vigil for the woman who was attacked and killed near the Venice Canals will be held at 7:30 p.m. by the walk bridge on Thursday.

53-year-old Sarah Alden was taken to the hospital after the April 6 attack and had been put into a coma. She was taken off life support and died last month.

Alden was in Venice while on a trip when the attack happened. She was planning to move to Los Angeles and even signed a lease.

Anthony Francisco Jones, 29, is facing multiple charges – including murder – for the attack. He was arrested on April 11 in San Diego and is accused of brutally attacking Alden and 54-year-old Mary Klein.

Alden’s sons said they donated her organs so that she could live on through others.

A GoFundMe was set up to help the family raise money for a memorial fund and medical expenses.

The family hopes people will line the walkways of the Venice Canals Thursday night.
