Toshamakia began her Radio career in the music industry in 2002 when she launched her debut single “Be Yourself” in the Connecticut area. Her single was skyrocketing up the charts and was gaining in popularity.
She began performing & touring with some of the biggest names in the business alongside Angie Martinez (from New York City’s Power 105.1)
She got her start in radio at WZMX-FM in Hartford, CT. Her personality shined, and was offered a position at the station! Her first fulltime position was in Philadelphia for her very own night show. At that same time she joined Sirius/XM radio with hip-hop icon Monie Love for “The Ladies First Show.
From there, she became the Morning Show co-host on 102 Jamz Greensboro’s “Wild Out Wake Up Show.” Toshamakia left radio to focus on herself, becoming a better person allowed her to later return to radio where she took on Afternoons in Greensboro while tracking mid-days for Colorado’s KS1075. After one visit for a station event, Toshamakia then knew Colorado would be her next home. She later packed up and moved her family, dogs and fun, out going talents and relocated to Denver Co to cover Afternoons while being APD/MD at Audacy’s KS1075.
Toshamakia is a survivor of domestic violence, bullying, and molestation. She used her platform to assist other in avoiding what she had endured. One of her passions is to help empower others and has also personally assisted many victims in getting out of abusive relationships.
Toshamakia is positive, fun, motivating, edgy & unfiltered voice for young girls & women everywhere. She creates trends that many follow and is everyones best friend on and off the Radio. Being involved in the community is very important to her.
