Toshamakia in Middays

Toshamakia’s journey in the world of entertainment ignited in 2002 when she dropped her debut hit “Be Yourself” in the vibrant Connecticut music scene. This track catapulted to the top of the charts, setting the stage for her meteoric rise. She didn’t stop there. Toshamakia soon found herself sharing stages with industry giants, including the iconic Angie Martinez from New York City’s Power 105.1. 

Her passion for radio began at WZMX-FM in Hartford, CT, where her infectious personality caught the station’s attention, leading to a career-launching opportunity. Her debut as a full-time radio host in Philadelphia marked the beginning of a thrilling journey. Simultaneously, she joined forces with hip-hop legend Monie Love for “The Ladies First Show” on Sirius/XM radio. 

Her star continued to rise as she became the co-host of the “Wild Out Wake Up Show” on 102 Jamz Greensboro’s morning slot. But Toshamakia’s journey took a unique twist when she decided to step away from radio to focus on personal growth. Her resilience and determination paid off as she returned to the airwaves, captivating audiences during her afternoon stint in Greensboro, while also managing midday slots for Colorado’s KS1075. A chance visit to Colorado for a station event changed the course of her career. 

Toshamakia felt an instant connection to the state and decided to make it her new home. She, along with her family, dogs, and her vibrant personality, relocated to Denver.

Beyond her remarkable career, Toshamakia is a survivor of domestic violence, bullying, and molestation. Her platform became a beacon of hope and support for others facing similar challenges. She is dedicated to empowering individuals and has personally helped numerous victims escape abusive relationships. Toshamakia embodies positivity, motivation, edginess, and authenticity. Her unfiltered voice resonates with young girls and women worldwide, setting trends that others eagerly follow.
