There is a big misconception that odometer fraud disappeared with digital odometers, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, CARFAX data suggests that over 1.9 million vehicles on the road have had their odometer rolled back (a 7% increase over the previous year), and CARFAX estimates the San Diego area has 29,000 vehicles on the road with a rolled back odometer, making it #15 nationwide compared to other major metropolitan areas.
