Many people may know that brain injury can be devastating, however they may not know that migraine (a debilitating disease that affects nearly 40 million Americans) is one of the most common post-traumatic brain injury (TBI) headache disorders.
U.S. Air Force veteran Keith McGee, the first disabled veteran in NASCAR history to race at a national series event, is no stranger to facing challenges head on.
As a U.S. Air Force veteran, he had to fly in some of the most difficult and dangerous situations and, as the victim of a violent attack, he lives with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and has debilitating migraine. Now as the first disabled veteran driving in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and an involved father of two, he has learned how to live his life while living with this debilitating disease.
But nothing has stopped him.
Whether it’s racing in NASCAR or baking cakes for his family and friends, he wants people to understand that traumatic brain injury and migraine can be debilitating, but it should not stop them from living life.
