San Diego County has the largest number of Tribal governments and reservations in the country, and Native Forward Scholars Fund is the largest direct provider of scholarships for Native students, having awarded thousands of direct scholarships to over 22,000 Native students from all 50 states and over 500 Tribes since its inception. They recently celebrated their 55th annual gala, celebrating the achievements of Native scholars and the bright futures they are shaping. Angelique Albert, a member of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes, and the CEO of Native Forward Scholars Fund, discusses this event.
