As we approach the holiday season, many of us are looking forward to gathering with family and friends, sharing a meal, having some laughs and making memories together. But hearing loss can put a damper on the fun, and the World Health Organization estimates that over 432 million adults around the world suffer from disabling hearing loss.
Dr. David Illich is the Chief Audiologist at Palomar Health Medical Group in Escondido, and for the past 18 years, he's held a "Hear for the Holidays" contest to help people who suffer from hearing loss. He discusses this contest, as well as hearing loss and prevention.
