Jelly Roll remains very humble with all his success, until you bring up his socks. The 39-year-old let us in on one of his biggest secrets this week while in Frisco, Texas ahead of the 59th Annual ACM Awards.

“Can I tell you a frivolous habit I have?” He said while backstage with Audacy’s Sabrina from Queens. “Don’t judge me for this, y’all. I promise I grew up very humble, but I only wear socks once. I buy socks in bulk… It’s the most frivolous thing I’ve done with my success. I’m sorry, I hope I didn’t let nobody down with that but when you’re fat, you can’t have stinky feet too, so you gotta have fresh socks!”

Well, guess we can’t blame the guy for wanting to be clean! Hopefully the pair Jelly picks for Thursday’s awards show are clean and lucky as he is up for 4 awards including  Single of the Year (“Need A Favor”), Music Event of the Year (“Save Me” feat Lainey Wilson), Male Artist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.

This is the Nashville-native’s first year being nominated and he sets a record with one of his first nominations being for the coveted, Entertainer of the Year award. “The Entertainer of the Year [nomination], that’s crazy talk,” he told Audacy’s Katie Neal. “I just couldn’t wrap my head around being nominated four times. Before I even seen what the four noms were, I seen the stat that it was the first time someone went from zero nominations to EOTY nomination since Billy Ray Cyrus in 1993.”
