The Padres won a hard-fought game against the Braves 1-0 on Monday night, as Michael King bounced back from a string of five poor starts to hurl seven scoreless frames. Manny Machado provided the lone offense of the game, hitting a solo home run off of Grant Holmes in the bottom of the 4th inning. It was the second home run from Machado in the last three games that proved to be the game-winner. Machado went 2-3 with a double and a home run, and added a walk as well in a game that hopefully proves he has turned a corner on the slow start to his season. Adrian Morejon and Mason Miller each pitched a scoreless inning in relief to nail down the win after King departed.
