All county schools, community centers, gyms and entertainment venues will be closed for two weeks, starting Friday.
PennDOT has closed all of its driver's license centers in Montgomery County. License centers in King of Prussia, Norristown, Huntingdon Valley, Harleysville, Pottstown and Ardmore will remain closed through Friday, March 27.
Wolf also recommends religious leaders express discretion in holding large gatherings.
Critical infrastructures like hospitals, long-term care facilities, gas stations and grocery stores will remain open.
Statewide, health officials will enforce significant "social distancing," recommending large gatherings of 250 people or more should be canceled or postponed.
Amtrak will begin operating on a reduced schedule. The Ardmore Station, in particular, will be closed for two weeks.
State employees traveling in and out of Montco are being directed to work remotely.
The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections has suspended all visits to prisoners for the next two weeks, and they’ll enhance screenings for anyone coming into the prisons, including staff, doctors, other employees.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health said now 22 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed across the state, two of which have been verified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Thirteen of those cases are from Montgomery County.
Across the state, 81 cases of coronavirus are pending.
Montgomery County Commissioner Val Arkoosh said the steps are not made lightly, and while it may seem like there are only a few cases, they’re trying to study the outbreak in Italy or New Rochelle, New York.
"What we see consistently is there’s a window of opportunity to try to mitigate the spread of this disease and they’ve waited too long," Arkoosh said.
She said they will do all they can to protect supply chains for essential businesses that will stay open.
Arkoosh said they remain confident if all gear provided is worn properly, first responders will be protected.
While Montgomery County is only releasing positive tests, word out of Chester County is that six law enforcement officers — four West Goshen police officers and two county sheriff's deputies — are quarantined as they had contact with the Lower Providence police officer whose positive test was announced Wednesday while responding to a bomb threat over the weekend.
It’s unclear how many officers in Montgomery County are currently quarantined.
Delaware County
Delaware County has one confirmed case, and officials said realistically, there will be more cases in the future.
The county is strongly encouraging non-essential business and organizations in the county to allow employees to work remotely if possible to allow for social distancing.
The state is not advising that schools in the county close, but officials say to prepare for that.
Starting Monday, all informal property reviews will be conducted by telephone; there will not be any conducted in-person.
The county had scheduled dozens of voting machine demonstrations throughout March and April. Officials say those will now be canceled, and residents can go to the county's website to watch tutorials.
The county will be offering communication services by phone and online, and officials are working to set up phone town halls with elected leaders and other community partners as a means to communicate with residents.
The Redwood Community Center in Upland Park will also be closed, officials added.
