PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — New research shows that exercise addiction is nearly four times more common among people with an eating disorder.

The study found in the journal Eating and Weight Disorders, as well as studies on anorexia, bulimia and obesity.

The information is based on looking at more than 2,000 patients, and the numbers are quite dramatic.

It found that people displaying characteristics of an eating disorder are almost four times more likely to suffer from addiction to exercise than people displaying no indication of an eating disorder.
