"Our main goal today is to figure out how to get as many people back to work," said Patrick Clancy, who runs Philadelphia Works.
The agency connects workforce talent to employers. On Thursday, they hosted 200 employers ranging from regional hospitals to home care and healthcare agencies - even FedEx, Comcast and other companies were present.
"They know Hahnemann staff are really skilled people and it goes everywhere from the folks in the cleaning department all the way to the top physician," Clancy said.
"We are looking for physicians, nursing, nursing assistants, housekeeping, admissions personnel," said Donna Ambrogia, chief nursing officer at Eagleville Hospital, a behavioral health facility.
After 30 minutes at the fair, Ambrogia said they already had people showing interest.
"I'm glad that they are doing this for Hahnemann Hospital," said Stephanie Davis, who has worked as a scheduler at Hahnemann for eight years.
The hospital is currently winding down operations and will close on Sept. 6.
There is no word yet on what will happen to the building.
