PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — If you're longing for warmer days, the Philadelphia Flower Show is just ahead, and it's bound to spark imaginations with dreams of Mediterranean travel.

Sam Lemheney, chief of shows and events at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, announced this year's theme: Riviera Holiday, which will take place from Feb. 29 through March 8.

"Everybody's wanting to go to the south of France or go to a Mediterranean climate and just relax on the beach in the middle of winter," Lemheney said.

Ambassador Maguy Maccario Doyle said with a theme like that, you have to include the Principality of Monaco.

"And our connection is one of Philadelphia's favorite daughters, Grace Kelly, who at the pinnacle of her career left it all behind to come to Monaco and marry a prince, Prince Rainier."

She said Kelly's legacy will be honored at the show.

"We will be presenting a replica on a smaller scale of the Princess Grace Rose Garden. We will also have as the centerpiece of that exhibit, a perfect replica of Princess Grace's wedding dress, to bring out the princess in all of us."

Lemheney said there will be plenty of events, including a preview party fundraiser for PHS on Feb. 28 and lots of games throughout the show.

"We have plant-tac-toe. You're gonna match up all the rain plants with all the dry plants. There's (also) a name that plant (game) so you'll find out what plants you need to know to help your garden grow."

You can purchase tickets for all of the events online.
