PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The 76ers have teamed up with The GIANT Company to deliver 2,500 meals to health care workers in Philadelphia and Camden — a three-day initiative called Feeding the Frontlines.

The initiative is facilitated through the nonprofit Off Their Plate, which delivers meals to health care professionals while offering economic support to local restaurants, with a focus on eateries that are female- and minority-owned.

On Monday, the group delivered food to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the Roberts Center for Pediatric Research, and Temple University Hospital. On Tuesday, Cooper University Health Care and the Roberts Center are on the schedule, followed on Wednesday with Temple and Cooper again.

“We hope our efforts will continue to fuel the heroism in our city and inspire others to support those who need it most,” 76ers Chief Marketing Officer Katie O’Reilly said in a statement.

Off Their Plate has provided more than $111,000 of economic relief to Philadelphia-area restaurants — more than $55,000 of which was given to restaurant workers.

Off Their Plate has collaborated with restaurants like Hardena, baology, El Merkury, Kalaya, Cafe Ynez, Rex 1516, Cadence, Los Cuatros Soles, and México Lindo.
