PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Black Label Comic Con descended on Philadelphia Saturday for one day only.

Eric Cooper is creator and founder of Black Label Comic Con, which was in Philadelphia for the first time this weekend.
"Black Label Comic Con is a convention that is meant for all different creators that have their own products, individual properties," said Cooper.
Nieem Parsons of Konkret Comics says a convention like this one opens the door to entrepreneurs, particularly minorities, with original ideas.
"It opens the eyes to the public that as black creators, we also have talent, amazing stories, original characters," said Parsons.
Chris Fraley said his costume was fighting stereotypes.
"I'm Blackman. I'm America's newest superhero."
Moana McAdams, editor in chief for the Wildcard Chronicles comic book series, also reflected on the role that stereotypes played on her involvement in the industry.
"Some of the comic books or movies you'll watch they make the female like the 'damsel in distress' and that's one of my pet peeves personally," she said. "If you don't see books that you would want to read then it's an open market for us to start writing our own books and that's what we did!"�
