The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission is closing off the I-295 on-ramp from Taylorsville Road. That's the first on-ramp drivers pass if traveling from New Jersey into Pennsylvania.
Drivers headed the other way will feel the impact of the closure because traffic that would normally use the on-ramp from Taylorsville Road to get on I-295 toward Philadelphia will instead have to enter the interstate headed towards New Jersey, then get off at Scotch Road, then get back on I-295 towards the city.
Commission Spokesman Joe Donnelly says it's not the most convenient detour.
"About five miles round trip, and depending on traffic volumes, can take about five to 10 minutes to complete," Donnelly said.
