Driver injured when SEPTA regional rail train hits car on tracks

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — SEPTA has restored service on the Media/Elwyn regional rail line after a train collision with a car early Monday morning interrupted srervice. The accident was cleared shortly before noon.

Elwyn: Accident scene is now cleared. Train #2329 will operate to Elwyn Station. A passenger extra train will operate inbound from Elwyn to Center City.

The accident occurred at Union Avenue around 9 a.m., and the train was inbound to Philadelphia. 

According to CBS 3, the train hit the car and pushed it down the tracks some distance. SEPTA says no one on the train was hurt, but authorities say the driver of the car sustained serious injuries.
