Archbishop Charles Chaput offered words of encouragement before the renewal ceremony attended by both younger and senior priests serving in the archdiocese.
"We need to make a commitment as we renew our priestly vows to become better preachers in the service of Jesus and his bride, the church," Chaput said.

The archbishop also called on the priests to stand strong in the face of adversity, knowing that they are not alone, that Jesus the bridegroom stands with them.
"May we, servants of the bridegroom, give our whole lives as we stand at his side," he said.
