Across 10 acres of show floor, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Chief of Shows & Events, Sam Lemheney, promises an outta-sight, far-out display of colors to delight the senses, when visitors walk into the Entrance Garden.
"We will tie in that 1960s pop art feel and vibe," he said. "You'll see bright colors — bright yellows, oranges, blues and lavenders."
This year's show will also host the FTD World Cup, the first time it will be held in the United States since 1985. Designers from nearly 24 countries, each of whom won national competitions, will face off for the top prize in floral design.
While the show pays tribute to the "Flower Power" era and the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Musical Festival, there are other groovy happenings — including a for visitors to get their fingernails dirty. Aspiring and experienced gardeners can check out the Home Gardener's Hub, including a "potting party" held each day, for advice and solutions in their own backyards.
The Flower Show runs Saturday, March 2, through Sunday, March 10, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
