SEA ISLE CITY, N.J. (KYW Newsradio)  Restaurants at the Jersey Shore are preparing for outdoor dining to begin on June 15.

The tables on the dock at Mike’s Seafood and Dock Restaurant are empty, except for one that’s piled with to-go containers.

This busy restaurant normally has a line around the block waiting for one of those coveted 54 tables, and owner Mike Monichetti said they have a plan for when outdoor dining is permitted.

The demand for takeout is causing a shortage of to-go containers, and seafood supply is down.

“Just like I do, they have bills to pay too and a lot of these people are longtime, loyal, Mike’s employees,” he added.

Monichetti has tackled challenges before and said he will do whatever it takes to make sure the 109-year tradition of Mike’s continues.
