During the Senate debate on the resolution Tuesday, Democrats, including Anthony Williams of Philadelphia and Delaware County, defended Wolf’s powers.
“Not on my last breath will I become comfortable in giving up my civil liberties,” Corman said.
Republicans also deny Democrats’ claims that ending the governor’s disaster declaration would jeopardize federal funds.
The state House also approved the resolution later Tuesday.
A spokeswoman for Wolf said he will “disapprove it.”
But the legislation at issue is a resolution and not a bill, and Republican leaders in the legislature contend the governor does not have veto power in this case.
