PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Eagles fans may be dealing with some anger issues after the team’s underwhelming 2-4 start and Jalen Hurts’ long-term absence, but two local therapists are here to help.
LaTonya McCurry and Latrice Mason have been running a new series of YouTube videos since the start of the season that they call “Eagles Fan Therapy.” The videos feature a therapy session with a therapist and her client, Eaglette.
The videos are fiction, but Mason—who is a die-hard Eagles fan herself—says the emotions are real.
“When we watch people on TV or we watch sports, we become emotionally connected to them,” Mason said. “It’s like Jalen Hurts is my cousin.”
The videos are sprinkled with jokes, and the pair said their goal is to get some laughs while also showing people what a therapy session looks like.
And they had some advice for suffering Eagles fans ahead of Monday night’s matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, with the Cowboys favored against a banged-up Eagles team.
“Don’t allow yourself to be tortured,” McCurry said. “Sometimes you may need to pull away, breathe.”
No matter the outcome, the pair will have a new video this and every week on Embracing Life Transitions’ YouTube and TikTok.
