During the trial to determine whether 47-year-old Jacob Sullivan should go to death row for killing Grace Packer with his girlfriend, Sara Packer, Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub said, “You could not write a horror movie with a worse script than that what was done to Grace Packer.”
Last March a Bucks County jury did decide, after 11 hours, that Sullivan should get the death penalty.
Handing down the sentence, judge Diane Gibbons said, “The butchery in this case is beyond my ability to describe.” She told jurors who heard the case to consider getting therapy, adding it was hard even for her to listen to the details.
Sullivan was in SCI Phoenix in Montgomery County. He was taken to Einstein Montgomery on Tuesday and died Thursday around 3:30 p.m. The cause of death is natural, listed as an aneurysm.
Sullivan’s co-defendant, Sara Packer, pleaded guilty and is serving a life sentence.
