PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is recovering after being shot in the face in North Philadelphia Wednesday night, and police say it was all over just $20.

Philadelphia Police say around 8:30 p.m. a 61-year-old man was approached by five suspects in the area of 22nd and Cambria streets. One of the men had a gun. The group began to go through the man's pockets, looking for money. They found $20, and most of the group began to leave, but Chief Inspector Scott Small says one of the men wasn't finished.

"The male with the gun then for some unknown reason, from point blank range, fired one shot into the 61-year-old victim's face," small said.

Small says the victim was able to get up, despite his injuries, and walk to a nearby store, where police were notified. He was then rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

The entire robbery was caught on security video, Small says, and investigators are reviewing it to identify the suspects.
