PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police have released a new surveillance video of a man they are calling a "robber" in West Philadelphia who shot a lawyer during one of his attempts.

The person who was shot is 37-year-old attorney Spencer Hill. Police say Hill got off a bus at 52nd and Spruce streets around 10:15 p.m. on March 4, then started walking home.

"He had felt that someone was following him, and when he turned around, he actually turned around in a defensive posture," explained Lt. Jim Kearney with Southwest Detectives. "(Hill) was startled. It seems that might have startled our offender and he fired a shot."

Hill was shot in the chest. He's been recovering since and is expected to be okay. The shooting happened before the suspect was able to rob Hill, but this isn't the first time that man struck.

But police need more.

"If anyone has any information on this male to identify him, please call Southwest Detectives," Kearney said.

Hill's law firm is offering a $10,000 reward.
