PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A tornado touched down in Mount Laurel on Thursday, say experts at the National Weather Service, who were out to survey the damage. It was the second in less than a week.
With wind speeds of about 90 miles per hour, the tornado didn't really threaten to cause widespread, catastrophic damage, but Trent Davis with the weather service says it certainly was a tornado.
"The trees being kind of in various directions and not all just lying the same direction as the storm was moving," he said. "We have a very good indication on radar, too, to match where the damage happened."

— NWS Mount Holly (@NWS_MountHolly) July 12, 2019It was in the Ramblewood section of Mount Laurel. No serious injuries were reported, but trees fell down, and some apartment buildings were damaged.
Davis says it's very unusual to investigate two tornados in the same town within a week in this region. People in the area might never get used to seeing tornado warnings on their phones.
