Police checks on the welfare of elderly people are nothing new. But now they’re using a web portal to develop a database of seniors in the city who may need a little extra protection.
Camden County Police Community Relations Captain Zsakhiem James says a loved one can sign up a relative over the age of 70 who lives alone in a private residence in Camden.
“We’ve had family members who live out of state who still have their parents or grandparents that live in the city of Camden and they have called the police department and asked us to check on them,” James added. “This is an easy way for them to register their loved ones.”
