PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Holidays are a time for families to get together. For some, it's the first time in a long time everyone is under the same roof.

That's the case for Philadelphia's family of professional sports mascots.

In a video just out from Visit Philadelphia, the furry figures are shown — separately — collecting festive treats across the city. Gritty saws down a tree in Rittenhouse Square; Swoop picks up hot chocolate in Franklin Square; the Sixers' Franklin stops by Termini Brothers Bakery; the Phanatic scores some lights from the Miracle on South 13th Street; and Phang, from the Union, plays the Wanamaker Organ at Macy's.

Then, all five mascots meet up at the airport, hugging and high-fiving travelers, handing out gifts, and even helping with luggage. (Gritty, of course, sprints down the moving walkway.)

Visit Philadelphia says it's all in the name of getting tourists and locals alike to experience what is uniquely Philly about this time of year.
