NORRISTOWN, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — One week after the top two lawyers in the Montgomery County public defenders' office were fired, several groups are planning a rally in their support on the courthouse steps.

But a letter sent from Montco Chief Operating Officer Lee Soltysiak to Beer days before the filing paints a different picture, stressing the administration's support of Beer's work on criminal justice reform, especially cash bail.

It also questions several moves by Beer, including, what the letter describes as the misuse of county resources when they had interns scour police social media accounts for improper posts, which Soltysiak says was only done so it could be given to a reporter at Philly Voice.

The rally is to begin at 10 a.m.
