EVENT: Nightmare Before Tinsel

DATE/TIME: Opens Friday at 4 p.m.

WHERE: 116 S. 12th St., Center City

DETAILS: Witching hour approaches with the return of Nightmare Before Tinsel, a Halloween-themed pop-up bar. Enjoy frights and flights, seasonal fall beers, and more for the start of spooky season.

EVENT: Arts Launch 2021

DATE/TIME: Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE: Kimmel Center, 300 S. Broad St., Center City

DETAILS: After an 18-month closure, the Avenue of the Arts is celebrating the return of in-person arts with free live performances from The Philadelphia Orchestra, Hip Hop Fundamentals, Ballet X and more, plus other fun activities.

EVENT: Feria del Barrio 2021

DATE/TIME: Sunday, 12 to 3 p.m.

WHERE: North Fifth Street between Huntingdon and Somerset streets, North Philadelphia

DETAILS: Celebrate Latin Heritage Month and culture in North Philadelphia with plenty of music, dancing, food and more. The festival has taken place for 37 years but was canceled last year due to COVID-19, so organizers are excited to see it return.

EVENT: 7th Annual One Africa! One Nation! Uhuru Book Fair and Marketplace

DATE/TIME: Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WHERE: Clark Park, 43rd and Chester streets, West Philadelphia

DETAILS: Uhuru’s book fair and marketplace returns to Clark Park with a children’s circle, live music, speakers and more than 100 vendors. The theme of the event is “Black Community Control of Education” and how to “organize the community for solutions to the disparities in education in the Black community through self-determination.”

EVENT: Punk Rock Flea Market

DATE/TIME: Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WHERE: Sheet Metal Workers Local 19, 1301 S. Columbus Blvd., South Philadelphia

DETAILS: Shop for vintage clothing, records, crafts and more at this outdoor Punk Rock Flea Market. One ticket is good for a whole weekend of shopping.

EVENT: XPoNential Music Festival

DATE: Friday through Sunday

WHERE: Camden Waterfront

DETAILS: For more than a decade, XPoNential Music Festival has brought up-and-coming artists to the Camden Waterfront. The three-day event includes performances from Cory Henry, Strand of Oaks, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and more.

EVENT: Center City Restaurant Week

WHERE: Various restaurants in Center City

DETAILS: Many popular restaurants in Center City will be offering $25 prix fixe lunches and $40 dinners for indoor dining, outdoor dining and takeout.

EVENT: Weirdo: The East Kensington Arts and Oddities Festival

DETAILS: Experience some weird art at this special festival in Kensington that celebrates everything strange and beautiful. There will be music, food and beer, interactive art, activities for the kids, and more.
