PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend in Philly, get caught in the mud at the Kensington Derby and Arts Festival with a three mile obstacle race and artist market. Fill up on pierogis from 20 different vendors at the Port Richmond Pierogi Fest. And, shop last minute for Mother’s Day and support local artists and vendors at the Spring Art Star and Craft Bazaar at Cherry Street Pier.

DATE/TIME: Saturday, May 13 from 12 to 6 p.m.

WHERE: Trenton Avenue from Norris Street to Frankford Avenue

DETAILS: The 15th annual Kensington Derby is here, with more mud than ever! For those that don’t know, think Amazing Race meets Survivor with a dash of Philly. There’s a derby road race where handmade vehicles go head to head along three miles of obstacles and mud pits. There will also be live music, art vendors and plenty of food trucks..

Pierogi Fest

EVENT: Pierogi Fest

DATE/TIME: Saturday, May 13 from 12 to 5 p.m.

WHERE: Gaul & Co. Malt House, 2619 E Indiana Ave., Port Richmond

DETAILS: Must we say more? The fourth annual Port Richmond Pierogi Fest is here and you won’t want to miss it. There are six live bands,  20 different pierogi vendors, 150 local crafters and artists, plus drinks from Gaul N Co.

Spring Art Star and Craft Bazaar

EVENT: Spring Art Star and Craft Bazaar

DATE/TIME: Saturday, May 13 through Sunday, May 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Cherry Street Pier, 121 N. Christopher Columbus Blvd., Old City

DETAILS: The free-to-enter craft bazaar is the perfect place to find last minute gifts for mom, or you – we won’t tell. There will be more than 60 vendors at the pier, make-and-take craft sessions and pay as you go food from Bourbon and Branch. If you get there early enough, you might be able to snag some free totes too!

Jasper Street Jam

EVENT: Jasper Street Jam

DATE/TIME: Saturday, May 13 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

WHERE: Jasper Street between Jackson and Monroe, 11 E. State St., Media

DETAILS: The daylong celebration in Media celebrates American music, from folk and country to bluegrass and Texas swing. There will be a food truck, beer garden and ice cream. Kids are also more than welcome to come down to join in on the fun. There will be an art making tent outside and classes for children inside the MAC Arts Center.

PRICE: $15 at the door, $12  online and children 12 and under are free

River Rink Summerfest

WHERE: Delaware River Waterfront, 101 South Columbus Blvd., Old City

DETAILS: Philadelphia’s favorite summertime tradition is back! Think outdoor roller skating, boardwalk games and rides, mini golf, and great food and drinks. And did we mention the view?

City Hall Roller Rink

EVENT: City Hall Roller Rink

DATE/TIME: April 21 through July 18

WHERE: Dilworth Park, 1 S. 15th St., City Hall

DETAILS: The rink is open seven days a week, and throughout the season there will be different events like Rewind at the Rink, Christmas and July, Pride Skate, and so much more!

PRICE: $8 for children 10 and under, and $10 for everyone else with an additional $6 per skate rental

Andalusia Historic House, Gardens & Arboretum

EVENT: Andalusia Historic House, Gardens & Arboretum

DATE/TIME: April 1 through Nov. 3

WHERE: 1237 State Rd., Bucks County

DETAILS: Andalusia Historic House is open for the season, and that means a slice of nature for the city folks. Guests can do self-guided tours to smell the crab apple trees, and see fields of daffodils, magnolias, Virginia bluebells and more! There will be six Open Saturday events throughout the season which feature special public programs like garden walks, a garden photography day, and a local river celebration.
