PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This weekend in Philly: Toast to Port Richmond as it celebrates its 175th anniversary. Watch Best Picture nominees on the big screen ahead of the Oscars. And for the kids, play some soccer and kayak in FDR Park.

EVENT: Port Richmond 175th Anniversary Celebration
DATE/TIME: Saturday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
WHERE: Cohocksink Recreation Center, 2901 Cedar St., Port Richmond
DETAILS: Port Richmond is celebrating its 175 anniversary this year and what better way to commemorate the day than with an Easter egg hunt, Polish string band, vendors, a City Council citation presentation and more. There is also a chance to win $500 during an all-day Monopoly tournament.

EVENT: Cannonball Tavern — Party in 18th century Philadelphia!
DATE/TIME: Saturday, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
WHERE: Fort Mifflin on the Delaware, 6400 Hog Island Rd., Southwest Philadelphia
DETAILS: Have you ever wondered what a colonial-era tavern would be like? Enjoy authentic beverages, games and a cozy fire at this special 18th century-style party. There will be people dressed as civilians and soldiers of the era as well as cannon demonstrations.

EVENT: Bird Walk at John Heinz
DATE/TIME: Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
WHERE: John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum, Southwest Philadelphia
DETAILS: John knowledgeable volunteers Chuck Root and Emily Dodge on an educational walk through in the refuge, discovering more than 300 species of birds that use it as a migration route. Each week guarantees a different species and no registration is required.

EVENT: POOL: A Social History of Segregation
DATE/TIME: Open Wednesdays to Saturdays through September
WHERE: Fairmount Water Works, 640 Water Works Dr., Fairmount
DETAILS: Philadelphia opened its first outdoor municipal pool in 1883 and presently has the largest number of public pools per resident of any American city. This exhibition explores how our nation handles race as it relates to public pools through interactive media, graphics and videos.

EVENT: Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis
DATE/TIME: Thursday, 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Academy of Music, 240 S. Broad St., Center City
DETAILS: Experience 15 jazz soloists and ensemble players in this orchestra led by Wynton Marsalis for a vast repertoire including historic masterworks by Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk, Charles Mingues and many more.

EVENT: Play-A-Palooza

WHERE: Smith Memorial Playground, 3500 Reservoir Dr., East Fairmount Park

EVENT: NJ Makers Day at Whitesbog
