PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Bill Manlove is a college football coaching legend, having won two Division III National Championships at Widener University.

Manlove won those national titles at Widener in 1977 and 1981. He remembered the aftermath of that first title win.
"We had tons of phone calls from people wanting to know how in the world we did it," he said.
"Other schools wanted to know, what did you guys do differently? Because Widener was kind of a new name, we had only been Widener a few years and nobody had ever heard of us and there we were, the national champs. We were just blessed with players who wanted to win and seemed to know how to win."
Manlove also served as a college head coach at Delaware Valley University and La Salle University. At 88 years old, he is still coaching today, serving as an assistant at Del Val. His success earned him induction into the College Football Hall of Fame back in 2011, an incredibly special honor that he was not expecting.
"Very, very much appreciated," he said. "I sat down and cried just be fortunate like that to get into that group."
