PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio and 94WIP) — The Philadelphia Eagles entered Thursday night's NFL Draft with a readiness to trade.
General Manager Howie Roseman gave up four draft picks to move up in the first round and pick the man selected as the best defensive player in college football last year, defensive tackle Jordan Davis.
Then, he dealt out of the first round to get a veteran Pro Bowl receiver, A.J. Brown.
The Eagles made a trade with the Houston Texans to move up from No. 15 overall to No. 13 overall to select Davis, from the national champion Georgia Bulldogs.
The Eagles traded pick numbers 15 (in the first round), 124 (in the fourth round), 162 and 166 (both in the fifth round) for pick No. 13.
Afterward, the Eagles traded out of the first round to get Brown, giving up the No. 18 pick in the first round and the No. 101 pick in the third round to the Tennessee Titans. Brown, had more than 1,000 receiving yards in his first two seasons with Tennessee and gives the Eagles a needed deep threat at receiver.

Analysis on Davis from 94WIP
Davis is viewed as one of the best defensive line athletes in the history of the NFL Draft after an incredible showing at the NFL Combine. Davis played limited snaps at Georgia, but he made the most of them, winning the Chuck Bednarik Award for best defensive player in the country. His numbers aren’t impressive but he has the physical tools to be a difference maker in the NFL.
