PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philadelphia Eagles are into game week mode as they prepare for Sunday's Super Bowl matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Eagles have taken advantage of an MVP-worthy season from quarterback Jalen Hurts. He has completed 66.5% of his passes for 22 touchdowns and just six interceptions while rushing for 760 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.

But his leadership — something that can’t be quantified — has been just as impressive, especially at just 24 years old.

“I think that's just who he is, regardless of his age,” said Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni.

“That's just who he is as a competitor, as a player. I guess it's rare.”

He said he sees Hurts on a daily basis, watching him not get caught up in the moment when it happens.

“That speaks to who he is, how he was raised,” said Sirianni. “He steady, and so it's impressive to see, but that's what I'm accustomed to now with Jalen, and he's the same guy every day."

Sirianni says Hurts always understands the assignment at hand.

"I think he's seen that when he's himself and he's playing at a high level, he doesn't have to press or do anything more than just do that,” said Sirianni.

“He gets a lot of good players around him, both offensively and defensively. I just think that's the growth and maturity of him as a player. He's maturing in every part of his game.”

Super Bowl LVII will be just the 38th start as the Eagles' starting quarterback for Hurts.
